10.  Penis Injections During his time as ruler of Nazi Germany, Hitler regularly injected his penis with acocktail of testosterone, made from the semen and prostate glands of young bulls. This injection was effectively an early version of Viagra, which enabled Hitler to have sex with his lover Eva Braun. However, the idea of a chemical cocktail injected directly into the penis didn’t die with Adolf. In 1983 pioneering urologist Sir Giles Skey Brindley injected his manhood with papaverine. The chemical allowed blood to flow freely to his penis, giving him an erection that could last up to 30 hours.  While giving a lecture on its effectiveness, and to prove to his audience that it worked, he once dropped his pants live on stage. Brindley had indeed got an erection, which lasted throughout the lecture.  This allowed him to walk around the hall, inviting the audience to take a closer look at his engorgedpackage. 9.  Penis Blockage In the 1600s scientists discovered that erections were caused by a rush of blood to the penis. The penis is either dried and eaten, or mixed with the testicles to create a drink called Dalishen Oral Liquid. The penis is high in Omega 3 fatty acids, which aid blood circulation when consumed. This could be beneficial for erections, but there is no proof that it is effective. Despite these doubts, munching on seal penis is extremely popular, and penises account for nearly 10% of all seal product sales - totaling $385,000 per year. 7.  Penis Pump The penis pump is a penis enhancement tool that was invented in the 1870s.  It helps men suffering with erectile dysfunction maintain an erection. The cylinder device is attached over the penis, creating a vacuum around it.  This draws bloodinto the shaft, causing it to swell. The pump also enlarges the length and thickness of a penis. However, penis pumps aren’t always good news, as discovered in 2006 by Oklahoma JudgeDonald Thompson.  He was sentenced to four years in prison after he was discovered using a penis pump under his robe, while presiding over jury trials. 6.  Animal Transplants In the 19th century, fraud American doctor John R.  Brinkley gained national fame by transplanting goats’ testicles into human testicle sacks.  This was in an attempt to fix patients that were ‘sexually weak’.  Meanwhile, he would treat female patients by inserting goat’s gonads next to their ovaries. The inserted goat testicles were always rejected by the patients’ bodies, and this sometimes caused infection and death. Similarly, in the 20th century, Russian scientist Serge Voronoff gained notoriety for his technique to improve sex drive.  He would graft monkey testicle tissue onto the testicles of his male patients. While the technique gained Voronoff fame and wealth, the effectiveness of his experiments were dis proven by the scientific community. 5.  Viagra Coffee Magic Power Coffee is an instant coffee product sold only online and marketed as a dietary supplement for sexual enhancement. The coffee contains hydroxythiohomosildenafil [hy-droxee-theo-hommo-sil-den-afil], a chemical similar to sildenafil, which is the active ingredient in Viagra. In 2010, the food and drug administration (FDA) released a statement encouraging users to stop using it immediately, as it caused dangerously low blood pressure in some men. Although there have been no reported cases of illness from the product, the FDA warns that it could lead to death in severe cases. 4.  Spanish FlySpanish Fly are pills that are illegally sold online as a Viagra alternative. The pills contain the dried bodies of Spanish Flies, a southern European green beetle, zinc,estrogen, and two poisons: strychnine [strick-nine] and yohimbine [Yo-him-bine]. In high doses, strychnine can lead to death in just 15 minutes. Spanish Fly works by creating a rush of blood to the sexual organs.  But on its way, it also irritates the urinary tract, causing a burning sensation. In 1991 a man from Virginia suffered from seizures after taking one of the capsules. Studies from the FDA have failed to confirm whether Spanish Fly works or not, and they now urge people not to take the pills. 3.  Yin and Yang In 2500 BC, ancient Chinese philosophers believed that an imbalanced yin and yang were to blame for male impotence. In the ancient Chinese textbook The Yellow Emperor's Classic of Internal Medicine, a potion of 22 ingredients is recommended to cure impotence.  The potion includes powdered antlers and tortoise shell gelatin, a mixture that helped the emperor bed 1,200 women himself. Acupuncture on the penis was also used as part of traditional Chinese medicine for the treatment, and is still being used in China and America today. 2.  Flagellation In the 1880s doctors began to suggest self-flagellation, or whipping of the penis, to cure erectiledys function.  The beatings worked by drawing blood to the penis and surrounding areas,although doctors did warn that external bleeding would be common.  There was also the possibility of developing hives. If this failed, doctors considered galvanism, the therapeutic use of electric currents,as a potential cure that would result in a less tender penis.  This use of electricity would later influence shock wave therapy, a highly successful Viagra alternative. 1.  Penis Stings The sexual advice book Karma Sutra encourages men to use wasps to enlarge and excite the penis. It tells readers to mix the wasp stingers with oil and rub the mixture onto the penis for 10 nights.  When swelling appears, they must sleep face down on a wooden bed with their penis hanging through a hole. The swelling would increase blood flow, potentially causing an erection through the bulbous, red,swollen penis. Zoologist Jules Howard described his penis as ‘satisfyingly large’, following wasps tings to the genitals in 2015.  This was after he accidentally urinated on a wasp nest.
